Low fade haircut at Next Level Barber Shop, 140 Santa Barbara Blvd S, Cape Coral, FL

What Is a Fade Haircut?

A fade is a cut where the hair grows from long on top down to nearly zero at the nape and sides, with a gradual blend worked over several clipper passes. The difference from a regular taper is that a fade drops lower (skin or 0.5 mm) and the blend is more detailed. At Next Level we do all four kinds: low fade (line above the ear), mid fade (line at the temple), high fade (line near the crown), and skin fade (bald at the bottom, finished with a foil shaver).

We serve Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, and Matlacha from the shop on Santa Barbara Blvd S, across from Publix and a few minutes from Veterans Memorial Pkwy and Cape Coral Pkwy.

Why Get It Here

How the Service Runs

  1. Pick the height. Low, mid, high, or skin. The barber shows where the line would fall on your head with a hand mirror.
  2. Length on top. We set the top length in inches or you show a photo. This defines the contrast with the fade.
  3. The fade. Three to five clipper passes with guards 0, 1, 1.5, 2 depending on the cut. Ear and sideburn cleanup with a trimmer at the end.
  4. Finish. Hot towel, back mirror, talc, and brush. We tell you which product to use to keep the top in shape.

Common Questions

Which fade height suits me best?
For an office-friendly look, low fade. For versatility and a balanced contrast, mid fade. For long-top styles with strong contrast (pompadour, quiff), high fade. For an ultra-clean detailed look, skin fade. The barber shows you each height with a mirror before starting.
How often do I come back for upkeep?
Low fade: every 3 weeks. Mid fade: every 2-3 weeks. High and skin fade: every 2 weeks to keep the line clean. Hair grows about a half-inch per month on average, and short fades lose definition fast at the blend zone.
How much is a fade haircut?
$30 from, whether it is low, mid, high, or skin. The fade + beard combo is $45. Cash and credit card accepted. No upcharge for skin fade.
Does the skin fade irritate the scalp?
No, when it is done with a foil shaver and talc at the end. The foil shaver cuts flush without pressing the skin like a straight razor. We apply menthol talc afterward to close pores. If you have sensitive skin, tell the barber and we drop to 0.5 mm instead of zero.
Can I ask for a burst fade or taper fade?
Yes. A burst fade arcs around the ear like a half-moon and leaves the nape long (popular with mullets and mohawks). A taper fade is more conservative: it only thins out the sideburns and nape without going up the sides. Both at the same price as a standard fade.
